Each patch is made from vegetable-tanned leather and features a clean, debossed design including the BK logo and the inspiring quote: “On the Quest for Life Well Lived and Loved.” Because the leather is left in its natural state, it is sensitive to sunlight, touch, and the oils from your hands. This means the patch will undergo a stunning transformation, evolving from a pale nude to a deep, warm honey or amber tone.

Application Tip: This patch can be attached using a strong leather adhesive (like Barge Cement) for a clean look, or hand-stitched for a more rustic, DIY feel.

“Baum-kuchen” is a name of a delicious German cake that has become quite popular in Japan. It looks like a tree stump and to Wakako and Frido it represents layers of happiness that have been built with time aging beautifully.
